PLC Technician
Job DescriptionThis is a hands‑on position, focusing on performing preventive maintenance and repairs on PLC systems and related equipment. You will work with various terminal equipment including electric motors, dust collectors, air compressors and mechanical and screw conveyors. This role requires the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues while collaborating with production teams to ensure minimal downtime. Additionally, you will safely operate equipment to move and unload rail cars and load customer trucks.
The position primarily involves day shifts, but flexibility to work odd hours including overtime is necessary.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on PLC systems and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure minimal downtime.
- Safely operate equipment to move and unload rail cars and load customer trucks.
- Maintain and order spare parts for terminal equipment including screw conveyors, dust collectors, and airslides.
- Strong understanding of industrial maintenance and troubleshooting computerized control systems, including PLCs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work unsupervised and lift 50‑60 lbs.
- Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
Skills & Qualifications
- Welding skills are a plus.

Work EnvironmentThis role operates primarily in environments with moving mechanical equipment and varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and humidity. The work environment can also include elevated noise levels.
Job Type & LocationContract position based out of Norfolk, VA.
Pay & BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.50–$34.50/hr.
