Electrical Supervisor – Marine Ship Repair
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead and coordinate marine electrical teams supporting ship repair and modernization projects. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining safety compliance, and driving schedule performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise marine electricians and electrical crews onboard vessels
- Plan, assign, and monitor daily work activities to meet production schedules
- Ensure compliance with NAVSEA standards, contract requirements, and shipyard procedures
- Must be able to troubleshoot (electrical circuits/equipment)
- Must be solution oriented (With both the job and employee issues)
- Interpret and verify blueprints, schematics, and work packages
- Coordinate with project managers, QA, and other trades
- Enforce safety standards and ensure OSHA compliance
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Monitor productivity, labor hours, and material usage
- Identify and resolve technical or manpower issues proactively
Qualifications
- 5+ years of marine electrical experience
- 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in ship repair preferred
- Strong knowledge of shipboard power distribution systems (AC/DC)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents
- Experience working on U.S. Navy vessels preferred
- OSHA 10 preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain shipyard access (All local shipyards, DBIDS eligible)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40–50 lbs (tools, cable, equipment).
- Ability to climb ladders, vertical access trunks, and staging frequently.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, tanks, voids, and tight compartments aboard vessels.
- Ability to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, respirator, fall protection, and hearing protection.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, dust, and shipboard noise.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read schematics, blueprints, and small gauge markings.
- Ability to distinguish colors (critical for electrical wiring identification).
- Ability to respond quickly in dynamic shipyard environments.
