The Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is seeking experienced Electricians, Construction Electricians, and Electrical Trades Professionals to join our team as instructors.

About the Role

As a Construction Electrician Instructor (Electrical Trades Instructor), you will provide classroom and hands‑on lab instruction in core electrical concepts and construction trade practices.

You will teach students across topics including:

  • Basic electricity
  • Electric services
  • Conduit installation methods
  • Electrical controls
  • Life safety systems
  • Construction safety practices

This role combines technical expertise, mentorship, and hands‑on instruction to prepare students for successful careers in the electrical and construction trades industry.

Schedule
  • Monday–Thursday: 8:00 am – 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm – 11:30 pm
Key Responsibilities
  • Teach electrical trades classes on a regularly scheduled basis
  • Create a welcoming and engaging learning environment for students
  • Deliver hands‑on instruction in classroom and lab settings
  • Assist with curriculum development and course material preparation
  • Maintain classroom tools, lab equipment, and instructional materials
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
  • Submit evaluations, reports, and required documentation on time
  • Support student retention and academic success initiatives
  • Participate in instructor training, faculty meetings, and professional development
  • Assist with equipment and supply inventory management
  • Communicate student attendance concerns and performance issues to leadership
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized training environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Vocational, technical, or construction‑related training preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the electrical or construction trades field
  • Experience as a Construction Electrician, Commercial Electrician, Industrial Electrician, or Electrical Technician preferred
  • Previous vocational training or teaching experience is a plus
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and construction safety
