Maritime Electrician

Tidewater Staffing, Inc. is seeking experienced Maritime Electricians to support shipyard operations throughout Hampton Roads. This role involves installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems aboard ships and within industrial marine environments.

The ideal candidate has previous shipyard or marine electrical experience, understands shipboard safety practices, and is comfortable working in physically demanding industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair marine electrical systems and components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Run cable, install lighting, panels, switches, and electrical equipment aboard vessels
  • Test electrical systems and diagnose faults using meters and testing equipment
  • Follow OSHA, NAVSEA, and shipyard safety procedures
  • Work effectively alongside supervisors, tradespeople, and shipyard personnel
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout projects
Requirements
  • Previous maritime, shipyard, industrial, or commercial electrical experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Familiarity with shipboard electrical systems and marine environments
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments including climbing, lifting, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
  • Reliable transportation and ability to access local shipyards
  • Strong attendance, communication, and safety awareness
Qualifications
  • Shipyard or Navy experience
  • OSHA certification is a plus
  • Experience with cableway installation, terminations, and testing
  • DBIDS and/or TWIC credentials are a plus Ability to work overtime with full compensation for ongoing projects
