Collision center technician
Summary
Responsible for identifying and performing necessary body repair work in accordance with factory and Collision Center specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Examine body damage on customer vehicles.
- Identify necessary body repair work.
- Estimate cost of body work.
- Request necessary parts.
- Perform body repairs, including removing damaged body parts and replacing with fixed or new parts.
- Document repairs performed.
- Perform body repairs efficiently and according to Collision Center and insurance company guidelines.
- Maintain CSI at or above company standards.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Participate in required training.
- Record all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
- Follow Safeguards rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate the company’s core values.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Observe all federal, state, local, and company safety rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Wages include base hourly compensation of $18.00 – $25.00. The position may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance, ranging from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) with no fixed upper limit.
Qualifications- Education: High school diploma (desired).
- Work Experience: 5+ years (desired).
- Certificates and Licenses: Driver’s license.
- Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems; demonstrable mechanical skills.
- Technical Training: Required or commensurate technical experience.
- Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out instructions; handle standardized situations; understand technical manuals; strong problem‑solving skills for parts request and efficient repairs.
- Verbal and Writing Ability: Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos; use communication skills to explain vehicle issues, repair needs, and recommendations to team members, service advisors, and customers; accurately document services performed and parts requested.

Skills:
Proficient in using dealership software systems for documentation, repair history tracking, timekeeping, parts inventory, and ordering. - Math Ability: Add, subtract, multiply, divide; proficiency in measurements for parts fitting.
- Physical Demands: Lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds; maneuver heavy components with assistance; stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl; reach overhead, below the knee, and at shoulder level; use hands and fingers for tools; maintain vision and sensory awareness; sustain physical activity throughout shift.
- Environment: Work in service area; exposure to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes; frequent interaction with customers, service advisors, and managers.
