• Install, wire, and test residential and light commercial standby generators (air‑cooled and liquid‑cooled systems).
• Perform load calculations and verify proper sizing, grounding, and transfer switch operation.
• Diagnose and repair generator electrical issues with professionalism and accuracy.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and performance testing.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and communicate clearly with customers.
• Follow all safety standards and company procedures.
• Install and/or upgrade a variety of electrical components such as generators, rewires, additions, and panels.
• Provide electrical service and repair to customers’ homes, apartments, and businesses.
• Coordinate with utility service providers and local code officials to ensure proper guidelines are established.

• Valid Virginia Journeyman or Master Electrician license (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of residential or generator electrical experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of NEC codes, transfer switches, and standby power systems.
• Factory training from generator manufacturers is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Apprenticeship certification preferred.

• Must be team‑oriented and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Willing to work hours outside normal schedule and on call.
