- Responsibilities: Independently install, modify, and repair high-pressure piping systems and equipment such as steam-heating, steam generation, and hydraulic systems;
Plan and lay out routing, placement, pitch, and elevation of piping systems from building plans, blueprints, and sketches;
Use shop mathematics to calculate angles, arcs, and circles and determine pipe, joint, and valve sizes to support system pressures and movement;
Determine correct placement levels, install and align critical system components such as risers, flexible branches, expansion joints, pressure regulators, and vacuum pumps;
Test completed installations and repairs to ensure proper circulation, flow, and pressure and leak-free joints conforming to trade standards
