Mobile Diesel Technician (B)

Shift: Monday
- Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm (hours may vary based on customer needs)

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on skillset and experience

Repair and maintain all types of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment. Perform duties independently with limited supervision, assist vehicle technicians as needed, and complete commercial customer asset preventive maintenance and repairs at remote commercial customer work sites.

• Perform basic electrical, mechanical diagnostic and repair of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment.
• Diagnose and repair automatic brake systems.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory, research and resolve discrepancies, and notify maintenance management when resolution not available.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area and warehouse; perform other tasks as determined by management.
• Serve as a mentor for Vehicle Technicians B and C; may perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Basic skills in welding and torch operation.
• Basic diagnostic tool skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Professional and appropriate interaction with internal and external customers.
• Ability to schedule and prioritize daily tasks.
• Ability to provide own tools.
• Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Operate power, hand, diagnostic tools, and material handling equipment.
• Capable of driving company equipment including Class 8 tractors.
• Capable of driving and working out of a mobile shop truck.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, potentially varying start and end times including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for shift assigned; work out in the elements at commercial customer worksites.
• Ability to work remotely at various commercial customer sites without direct supervision.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• D.O.T. Brake Inspection certification.
• Ability to obtain DOT Medical Certificate.
• Valid driver's license.
