Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Supervisor to manage our facilities, shop, personnel, and equipment. Desired applicants possess experience with NAVSEA welding, fitting, and fabrication processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop cost estimates, labor, material, and outside service plans
  • Create and maintain daily production schedules
  • Monitor physical progress and work with subcontractors as needed
  • Train welders and fitters on Continental Tide processes
  • Collaborate with the Quality Program on welding procedures, process improvements, and maintenance
  • Provide progress reports to leadership
  • Maintain high cleanliness and organization of the shop
  • Schedule routine maintenance for shop equipment and provide semi‑annual improvement reports
  • Support routine facility tasks, act as point of contact for deliveries and returns, and track gas bottle usage
  • Assist with facilities maintenance and minor repairs
  • Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company procedures
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support project completion
Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and execute multiple tasks
Required Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade or vocational school degree preferred
  • 7‑10 years of direct experience with metal fabrication and machining equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret shipboard installation drawings, specifications, and NAVSEA Standard Items (preferred)
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance
  • Monitor compliance with company Quality and Safety Management Systems, workmanship standards, and customer requirements
Physical Requirements
  • Exposure to open‑air environments, including noisy, hot, and cold conditions
  • Required site visits to projects aboard ships and rigs, both onshore and offshore
  • Wearing PPE such as hearing, eye, head, and hand protection
  • Work may involve standing on varied surfaces, bending, crouching, climbing over obstructions such as scaffolding or ladders
  • Exposure to sound levels exceeding 100 decibels
  • Require good visual acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and night vision for inspection tasks
  • Possible confined‑space work with limited ventilation
  • Prolonged periods of sedentary work, including sitting and/or standing
  • Possibly operating machinery, power tools, and heavy equipment
  • Must communicate effectively
  • Frequent exposure to extreme weather conditions
  • Capable of lifting and carrying 30 lbs. or more, as required
