Position: Marine Technician / Boat Mechanic

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Marine Technician (Boat Mechanic) to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of boats and marine engines. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a passion for working on the water.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on boats and marine engines
  • Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tune-ups, winterization, etc.)
  • Work on inboard, outboard, and sterndrive engines
  • Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, and cooling systems
  • Install and repair marine equipment and accessories
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate with customers as needed
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently
Qualifications
  • Experience as a marine technician, boat mechanic, or similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of marine engines (Mercury, Yamaha, Volvo Penta, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems
  • Valid driver’s license (boating license a plus)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
  • Marine Service Technology certification
  • American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) certification
  • Manufacturer certifications (Mercury, Yamaha, etc.)
