CLEARED MARINE MECHANIC ROLE
Position requires active secret clearance.
This role focuses on the removal, repair, overhaul, installation, alignment, and testing of mechanical and hydraulic systems on ships and submarines. You will work as an Outside Machinist across multiple specialty areas, including general marine machinery, sail and mast systems, propulsion equipment, and steering and diving systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of critical naval assets.
Responsibilities- Experience repairing and overhauling ship mechanical and hydraulic components such as diesel engines, hatches, valves, pumps, and related equipment.
- Experience performing work in accordance with SUBSAFE requirements and the NAVSEA Submarine Safety Requirements Manual.
- Experience repairing and overhauling mechanical components related to submarine seawater, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
- Specialized experience in the removal, repair, installation, alignment, and overhaul of submarine sail components, including periscopes, masts, antennas, and associated thin and fat line systems.
- Specialized experience with the removal, repair, installation, alignment, and overhaul of submarine propulsion equipment, including turbines, reduction gears, shafting, and thrust bearings.
- Specialized experience with the removal, repair, installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and overhaul of submarine steering and diving systems and components, including rudders, stern planes, and fairwater planes.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot marine engines, motors, pumps, and hydraulic systems in a shipyard or marine repair environment.
- Practical experience in shipyard, ship repair, or marine mechanical work involving valve repair, marine engines, and associated mechanical systems.
- Steam Plant Cleanliness training and qualification in accordance with NAVSEAINST 9210.36F as implemented by Corporate Naval Shipyard Uniform Industrial Process Instruction A, where applicable to assigned systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals, drawings, and work instructions for complex mechanical systems.
- Must hold an active secret security clearance.

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr.
