Mechanic Tech Subject Matter Expert
HII's Mission Technologies division is seeking an experienced Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide diagnostics, troubleshooting, technical oversight, repair recommendations, and maintenance support for CNSL shipboard Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Shipboard Mobile Support Equipment (SMSE). Essential job responsibilities include providing mission-critical service life extension maintenance and repair support to ensure equipment safety, reliability, EMI compliance, proper configuration, and availability to support U.S. Navy operational readiness.
Minimum qualifications include a high school education or trade school or equivalent, and 8 years of related experience, to include specific systems expertise. Preferred requirements include experience supporting CNSL, shipboard forklifts, pallet trucks, aerial work platforms, FDS units, and rough terrain forklifts. Experience maintaining UL ratings, EMI suppression requirements, and explosive-handling compliance is also preferred.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes, work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
