Overview

HVAC Truck Based Senior Controls Technician

Perform HVAC control system programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance related to mechanical, electrical, and low‑voltage controls components.

Provide front‑line technical and repair support, respond to service and warranty calls, and assist customers with system repair and update recommendations.

• Program and troubleshoot HVAC control systems;
• Install, commission, and perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and low‑voltage controls components;
• Respond to service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools, hand tools, and electronic testing equipment;
• Maintain effective communication with Johnson Controls customers and contractors;
• Document changes, complete commissioning documentation, and provide as‑built documentation;
• Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment;
• Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation;
• Execute company‑sponsored and personally initiated training to maintain knowledge and capability;
• Engage with customers to fully understand systems and needs;
• Communicate with the contractor or customer before and after the work site visit;
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.

• Load Johnson Controls field and network level controller software;
• Perform commissioning and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers and end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete required commissioning documentation;
• Keep management and contractors informed of job progress and issues;
• Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment;
• Show advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, sequence, and applications.

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sequence, and applications;
• Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro‑mechanical fields;
• Ability to use hand, power tools, and electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter;
• Solid knowledge base in the use of personal computers;
• Attention to detail;
• Good communication and listening skills.

Hourly range: $24.52 – $30.29 (based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities). The position includes a competitive benefits package.
