Are you an experienced Outside Machinist looking fora hands-on role in ship repair
? Avail Staffing is seeking skilledprofessionals to support the repair of U.S. Naval vessels in Hampton Roads
.If you have 3+ years of experience working on ABS or NAVSEA-certifiedvessels
, we want you on our team!
Remove, repair,overhaul, install, and align main propulsion machinery and auxiliaryequipment
, including:
- Compressors,condensers, pumps, and forced draft blowers
- Cargohandling machinery, anchor gear, cranes, and davits
- Elevators,conveyors, firefighting systems, and more
Install and repair
foundations for ship machinery and major components of ship armament.
Test and inspect
installed machinery and equipment during dock and sea trials
.
Use precision toolssuch as calipers, micrometers, height/depth gauges
, and assist withoptical equipment.
Work from blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to execute high-qualityinstallations and repairs.

Minimum 3+ years ofshipyard experience on ABS/NAVSEA vessels
Ability to pass a background check and obtain a DBIDS badge
Willingness to work day shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
