HL Welding, Inc. is seeking experienced Pipe fitters for a marine project in Norfolk, Virginia. The Pipefitter will be responsible for the installation, fabrication, maintenance, adjustment, and repair of shipboard piping systems and related mechanical components.

The ideal candidate will have strong marine pipe fitting experience, excellent blueprint and drawing interpretation skills, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to accurately measure, fit, align, and install piping systems in a demanding shipyard environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S Citizenship required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of journeyman level pipefitter experience
  • Strong blueprint, schematic, and piping drawing interpretation skills.
  • Work with a variety of marine piping systems, including steam, hydraulic, hot water, compressed air, fuel, oil, and other shipboard systems.
  • Install, fit, align, maintain, and repair shipboard piping systems in accordance with blueprints, drawings, specifications, and established procedures.
  • Connect piping systems to pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, valves, machinery, and other shipboard equipment.
  • Must be able to pass a hands on and written test if required.

  • Must be available and willing to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, overtime, and varying schedules as required.
  • Must be comfortable and capable of working at heights, in confined spaces, and in other challenging shipyard environments.
  • Must be physically capable of frequent carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, reaching, bending, and performing repetitive manual tasks.

    Must have sufficient visual and auditory ability to safely perform assigned duties, recognize warning signals, and identify hazards.
  • Must maintain a high level of safety awareness and consistently follow company, shipyard, OSHA, and customer safety requirements.
  • Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
