Maintenance Technician
Norfolk, VA Pay: $18.00/hour
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Assignment Length:
Approximately 4 Weeks
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to support a local property management organization serving residential communities throughout the Hampton Roads area. This position offers a variety of hands-on maintenance work, the opportunity to work independently, and the potential for a longer-term opportunity based on business needs.
Job Responsibilities- Complete general maintenance work orders
- Perform basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting
- Repair and maintain appliances, ceiling fans, washers, and dryers
- Prepare residential units for new occupants
- Install smoke detectors and complete minor repairs
- Document completed work using a mobile work order system
- Communicate with outside vendors when specialized repairs are needed
- Drive a company vehicle between assigned properties
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude while working in occupied residences
- Previous general maintenance or property maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple work orders
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license required
- Comfortable using a smartphone or mobile applications for work orders
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing ladders
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable driving between multiple work locations throughout the day
- $18.00 per hour
- Monday–Friday schedule
- Weekly pay
