Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician with proven expertise in building, packing, and sealing Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) aboardnaval and commercial vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipboard electrical systems, cable installation, and NAVSEA or maritimesafety standards. This role requires hands-on technical skill, attention todetail, and the ability to work in confined and industrial shipyard environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install,build, pack, and seal Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) in accordance withNAVSEA and shipyard specifications
  • Pull,route, support, and terminate electrical, fiber optic, and communicationcables through MCTs and ship structures
  • Readand interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, cable schedules, and penetration drawings
  • Install and secure cableways, hangers, brackets, and penetration hardware
  • Performcontinuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and basictroubleshooting of shipboard electrical systems
  • Ensurefire-stop integrity and watertight sealing of all penetrations
  • Labeland dress cables to meet shipboard standards and quality requirements
  • Followall safety procedures related to confined spaces, hot work, fall protection, and electrical hazards
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with shipyard safety policies
  • Coordinate with other trades including shipfitters, welders, painters, and engineers
  • Documentcompleted work and report discrepancies or deficiencies to supervision
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum3–5 years of experience as a Marine Electrician in a shipyard or maritimeenvironment
  • Demonstrated experience building and packing Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs)
  • Knowledge of MCT systems such as Roxtec, Nelson, or equivalent
  • Abilityto read and understand shipboard electrical drawings and specifications
  • Experiencepulling and terminating power, control, and fiber optic cables
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA standards and shipboard installation practices
  • Abilityto work in confined spaces, at heights, and in physically demanding conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications
  • NAVSEACableway or MCT certification
  • Fiber optic termination or testing experience
  • OSHA
    10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experienceaboard U.S. Navy vessels
Physical Requirements
  • Abilityto lift up to 50 lbs
  • Abilityto climb ladders, scaffolding, and work in tight spaces
  • Comfortable working aboard vessels and shipyard environments
Work Environment
  • Shipyards,dry docks, and onboard vessels
  • Exposure to noise, dust, weather elements, and industrial hazards
  • Use ofPPE including hard hats, respirators, and fall protection
