Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician with proven expertise in building, packing, and sealing Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) aboardnaval and commercial vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipboard electrical systems, cable installation, and NAVSEA or maritimesafety standards. This role requires hands-on technical skill, attention todetail, and the ability to work in confined and industrial shipyard environments.
Key Responsibilities- Install,build, pack, and seal Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) in accordance withNAVSEA and shipyard specifications
- Pull,route, support, and terminate electrical, fiber optic, and communicationcables through MCTs and ship structures
- Readand interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, cable schedules, and penetration drawings
- Install and secure cableways, hangers, brackets, and penetration hardware
- Performcontinuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and basictroubleshooting of shipboard electrical systems
- Ensurefire-stop integrity and watertight sealing of all penetrations
- Labeland dress cables to meet shipboard standards and quality requirements
- Followall safety procedures related to confined spaces, hot work, fall protection, and electrical hazards
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with shipyard safety policies
- Coordinate with other trades including shipfitters, welders, painters, and engineers
- Documentcompleted work and report discrepancies or deficiencies to supervision
- Minimum3–5 years of experience as a Marine Electrician in a shipyard or maritimeenvironment
- Demonstrated experience building and packing Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs)
- Knowledge of MCT systems such as Roxtec, Nelson, or equivalent
- Abilityto read and understand shipboard electrical drawings and specifications
- Experiencepulling and terminating power, control, and fiber optic cables
- Familiarity with NAVSEA standards and shipboard installation practices
- Abilityto work in confined spaces, at heights, and in physically demanding conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- NAVSEACableway or MCT certification
- Fiber optic termination or testing experience
- OSHA
10 or OSHA 30 certification - Experienceaboard U.S. Navy vessels
- Abilityto lift up to 50 lbs
- Abilityto climb ladders, scaffolding, and work in tight spaces
- Comfortable working aboard vessels and shipyard environments
- Shipyards,dry docks, and onboard vessels
- Exposure to noise, dust, weather elements, and industrial hazards
- Use ofPPE including hard hats, respirators, and fall protection
