Engineer III

Engineer III – Pulse Point Location, Norfolk, VA. The role requires working in‑office 3‑4 days per week with hybrid flexibility when feasible.

Pulse Point, 5800 Northampton Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502. Office days 3–4 per week; remaining days can be worked remotely.

• Work with Systems Analysts to create and implement technical requirements.
• Support existing applications and develop new solutions.
• Participate in Agile sprint estimation, planning, and execution.
• Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Ensure unit testing for all new development activities.
• Provide on‑call support and monitor system performance.
• Maintain the technical development environment.
• Mentor team members and lead small to medium‑sized projects.
• Facilitate group sessions for requirement clarification, design, code reviews, and issue troubleshooting.
• Support vendor evaluation activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Four (4) years of experience in engineering or related roles.

• Multi‑platform experience.
• Proficiency with Java/J2EE development technologies:
  Java programming language, Drools, Hibernate, Spring, JSP, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, Java Beans, Servlets, Web Services, and JDBC.
• Experience with Rational toolset, including RSA, Clear Case, and Clear Quest version control tools.
• Experience working with SQL and DB2.
