Location:

Norfolk, VA Pay: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule:

Full-Time | 12 hour nights work 4 days and off 4 days

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics Specialist to support daily supply chain and transportation operations. This position is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, tracking orders, resolving shipping issues, and ensuring products are delivered on time. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience working with logistics systems, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Communicate with freight carriers, vendors, customers, and warehouse personnel.
  • Track shipments and provide status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping delays, shortages, and delivery discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, transportation, and logistics records.
  • Prepare and process shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and proof of delivery.
  • Schedule pickups and deliveries to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Utilize ERP, WMS, TMS, or other logistics software to manage orders and shipment activity.
  • Generate reports related to inventory, transportation costs, and on-time delivery metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline logistics processes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required;
    Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of logistics, transportation, warehouse, inventory control, or supply chain experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
