Position: 92F Petroleum Supply Specialist

A Petroleum Supply Specialist in the Army National Guard ensures proper handling, storage, and shipment of petroleum-based products such as oil, fuel, and compressed gas.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products.
  • Operate specialized pumping equipment to load trucks, ships, trains, and aircraft.
  • Select and submit samples of petroleum-based products for testing.
  • Perform petroleum and water accounting activities.
  • Test petroleum samples for contamination and repair specialized equipment.
  • Ensure facility safety procedures and storage guidelines are followed.
  • Supervise, train, and spot‑check other Soldiers; assign duties and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
Job Duties
  • Receive and stock bulk and package products.
  • Issue and dispense bulk fuels and water from storage and distribution facilities to using units.

  • Operate airplane refueling systems and equipment.
  • Plan and schedule petroleum transport.
  • Test oil and fuels.

Training and Career Development

After 10 weeks of Basic Training, you attend 11 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) which includes hands‑on and classroom training. The program also offers apprenticeship opportunities and tuition assistance.
