Position Overview
The CDL Driver at SRS ensures safe, timely delivery of building materials to job sites, verifies inventory, follows safety protocols, and maintains high service standards. This role supports operational efficiency and fosters strong customer relationships through professionalism, teamwork, and responsiveness.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate Class A/B vehicles within a 200‑mile radius, following DOT regulations with no overnight travel.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, verify inventory accuracy, and ensure secure, damage‑free deliveries.
- Assess job site conditions to prevent hazards, collaborate with customers for material placement, and document deliveries with photos per company policy.
- Support yard operations and uphold OSHA safety standards to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.
- Coordinate and execute on‑site deliveries, manage multi‑drop routes, and provide excellent customer service with professional on‑site coordination.
Reports to the Assistant Branch Manager or Operations Manager. May supervise or train junior drivers if required.
Travel RequirementsCDL Drivers travel locally and interstate within a 200‑mile radius, ensuring all deliveries begin and end at the home branch the same day—no overnight stays required.
Physical RequirementsMust handle long hours of driving and load/unload materials up to 100 lbs. Requirements include working manually or with forklifts, coping with varied weather and noisy environments, and reading job‑related documents in English.
Working ConditionsLong hours, fast‑paced schedules, and varying weather conditions while traveling within a 200‑mile radius. Requires strong commitment to safety, customer service, and adaptability.
Minimum Qualifications- Valid CDL Class A or B with air brakes endorsement and a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and operate forklifts or other equipment safely.
- Effective communication in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Age 18+ (21+ for interstate or hazardous materials). Passes background checks, drug tests, and E‑Verify.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Hazmat endorsement.
- Strong vehicle maintenance skills and experience with multi‑drop deliveries.
- Familiarity with fleet management systems.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and multilingual abilities are a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred EducationVocational or industry‑specific training in truck driving.
Minimum Years of Work Experience1–2 years of relevant commercial driving experience.
Certifications- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A or
B) with Air Brakes Endorsement – Required. - Current DOT Medical Certificate – Required.
- Forklift Certification – Preferred.
- FMCSA Registration – Required.
- Strong safety compliance through inspections and adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations.

- Adaptability to challenging situations and maintenance of detailed records.
- Effective communication in English and physical capability to handle heavy materials.
Base hourly wage typically ranges from $23.51 to $29.90. Additional compensation may include overtime, performance‑based bonuses, commissions, and a car allowance or automobile/fuel program.
