Job Summary

The Student Front Desk Administrative Assistant serves as the first point of contact for visitors, students, faculty, staff, and community members who contact or visit the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE). This position supports the daily operations of the office through customer service, reception duties, event support, clerical support, and general office organization.

The student employee is expected to represent CCE in a positive and professional manner through effective verbal and written communication with diverse audiences while supporting the Center's commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and civic engagement. The position requires strong time management, organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic office environment.

Student employees will meet regularly with their supervisor to review responsibilities, receive feedback, and support ongoing professional development.

Pay Rate

$15/hour

Required Qualifications
  • Student employees must maintain good academic and disciplinary standing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service, reception, office, or administrative experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Experience with data entry, recordkeeping, or document management.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Interest in civic engagement, community service, or higher education.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
Work Hours

Flexible scheduling is available based on class schedules and office needs.

Student employees work between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Typical shifts range from 1.5 to 3 hours, with most students working 5 to 10 hours per week.

  • Preference will be given to applicants with availability on Mondays and Fridays.
