Summary The Middle School Summer School Director will oversee the planning required prior to the start of the program and facilitate, coordinate, and supervise the day to day operations of summer school and Freedom School.
DATES & TIMESGeneral:
June 8 through July 3, 8:00am-3:00pm
Middle School:
June 8-June 26 (Monday through Friday), 8:30am-1:00pm
Freedom School:
June 8-July 3 (Monday through Thursday), 8:30am-2:30pm
No school on June 19
DUTIES- Hire all staff for certified positions to meet the needs of students enrolled in summer school.
- Create class lists
- Provide staff training prior to the first day of summer school
- Provide day-to-day supervision, oversight, and support to staff working summer school
- Communicate program information to families
- Plan to ensure efficient use of building space and prepare for basic structural environmental needs of summer school
- Manage discipline and daily building needs of summer school
- Administrative Licensure required
- Minimum of five years of teaching experience desired
- Knowledge of African American history and or social justice
- Excellent organizational skills
- Freedom School experience preferred
