Temporary​/Fulltime Assistant Professor of Animal Science

Position: Temporary/ Fulltime Assistant Professor of Animal Science
Summary:

This is a 9-month faculty position. The position reports directly to the chairperson of the department and work in the area of Animal Science in the Department of Food and Animal Sciences. The rank and tenure-status of the position is negotiable based on the qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Responsible for oversight of large animal operations on the university farm

* Develop a research program focusing on livestock applicable to small and midsize farms

* Teach three (3) undergraduate courses per semester

* Develop a multidisciplinary independent research program via generation of extramural research funds

* Participate in interdisciplinary research activities

* Assist/advise undergraduate students

* Serve on committees as assigned

* Participate in student recruitment and retention activities

* Execute any other duties and responsibilities that are assigned by the department chair

Minimum

Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):

* Doctorate degree in Animal Science

* Outstanding history of publication and grantsmanship in the area of Animal Science

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Demonstrate ability to work in a team based, collaborative environment to solve problems and develop programs

* Effective written and oral skills
