Adjunct - Department of Biological Sciences

Alabama A&M University invites applications for Adjunct Instructor teaching positions. These positions are part-time, non-tenured positions and are not eligible for benefits. Previous teaching is preferred.

The Department of Biological Sciences is seeking adjuncts in the following areas:

* Biology (Biology-Related courses)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Plan, organize and instruct undergraduate courses in accordance with approved course outlines

* Maintain a prominent level of competence and expertise in the teaching content area and ensure an effective learning experience.

* Utilize the university's learning management systems, as necessary.

* Perform additional instructor responsibilities to include but not limited to communication with students, responding to e-mails in a timely manner, be available for virtual office hours and attend all classes as scheduled.

* Submit your course syllabus to the Department Chairperson prior to the start of the term

* Provide effective assessments and evaluation of student learning experiences.

* Keep students informed of their progress with timely feedback and posting of grades in the university's learning management system

* Encourage and cultivate a positive and diverse learning environment for learning populations.

* Retain and submit documentation as requested to the Department Chairperson

Minimum requirements include a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
