Illinois State University is hiring a Behavior Assessment Training Regional Behavior Specialist. The role delivers professional development and technical assistance to school districts in Illinois, focusing on Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans. The specialist supports educators and school teams to implement behavior strategies that comply with state and federal standards while promoting equitable and sustainable practices.
Highlights- Deliver high-quality training and direct technical assistance on FBAs and BIPs in Illinois school districts
- Serve as primary contact for assigned regions: northwestern, northeastern, and southern Illinois
- Collaborate with school teams, district personnel, and state partners to build capacity and support implementation fidelity
- Support reduction of exclusionary discipline practices and improve outcomes for students with behavioral challenges
- Required master’s degree in Special Education, School Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or related field
- Certification/licensure in a behavior-related or special education field (e.g., LBS1, BCBA, School Psychologist)
- Minimum five years conducting FBAs and BIPs in PK-12 educational settings and providing instructional coaching
- Knowledge of IDEA and state behavior support requirements
- Salary range $7,000-$8,600 per month based on location and experience
- Must be able to travel regionally and work flexible hours including some overnight travel
