STEM Education Coordinator

Illinois State University is hiring a STEM Education Coordinator. The position manages student success, undergraduate research, and civic engagement within the Science IS-U Scholars Program by coordinating a program of 40 students, mentoring a diverse group, and delivering STEM instruction. The role emphasizes innovative STEM teaching strategies, faculty professional development, and equitable access to STEM learning experiences.

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Science IS-U Scholars Program focusing on student success and undergraduate research.
• Mentor and support a diverse undergraduate student body pursuing STEM careers and interests.
• Coordinate professional development activities for STEM faculty.
• Deliver high quality STEM instruction utilizing innovative educational strategies.
• Required graduate degree (master’s or doctoral) in STEM or Education disciplines; ABD candidates considered.
• Experience managing STEM education projects and post-secondary teaching in STEM subjects required.
• Salary offered is $61,800 annually.
• Regular work hours Monday through Friday with some evenings, weekends, and travel possible.
• Position requires commitment to equitable, inclusive STEM education access.
• Position is based in the School of Biological Sciences, Academic Affairs division.
