Job Summary

The Department of Mathematics at Illinois State University is looking to hire 1-2 full time, non-tenure track faculty members to support the Actuarial Science program. The person(s) selected will be expected to teach 24 CHE of courses related to actuarial science and statistics, such as Financial Mathematics, Actuarial Models I-V, and other statistics courses. Some of these courses may be offered for University Earned Credit.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$7,500-$9,500 per month for a 9 month appointment

Required Qualifications
  • Conferred master’s degree in actuarial science or closely related field by start date of appointment OR ABD in a doctoral program
  • For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level
  • Ph.D. in Actuarial Science or a closely related field
  • Associated or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society
