Overview

Illinois State University is hiring a Director of Development for the College of Applied Science and Technology. This role actively pursues major gift donations of $25,000 or more by developing and executing fundraising strategies and collaborating closely with college leadership and other university development officers. The director frequently engages with constituents through visits and contacts to secure funding support.

• Lead major gift fundraising initiatives for the College of Applied Science and Technology, targeting gifts of $25,000 or more.
• Develop and implement strategies to cultivate, solicit, and secure major gifts and identify new prospects.
• Collaborate with the College Dean, faculty, staff, and other development officers across Illinois State University.
• Perform frequent constituent visits and contacts, requiring significant travel and occasional evening/weekend work.

• Required qualifications include a bachelors degree and at least one year of relevant development or fundraising experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential, alongside the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Preferred experience includes successful major gift fundraising and familiarity with higher education, especially applied science and technology disciplines.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without university visa sponsorship.

• Salary ranges from $70,000 to $86,000 annually, with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and tuition waivers.

• Position demands availability for travel, and evening and weekend availability as needed.
