Non-Traditional Jobs Program Coordinator

We seek applicants for a temporary full-time position in the College's Career and Technical Education division to coordinate the Non-Traditional Jobs Program under guidance of the Director, Industrial Technology Laboratories. The program focus is on three core components: career readiness training in the classroom, transition to employment or post-secondary education, and case management and support. The Coordinator will work in collaboration with the College's Career Center, Student Success services, the Workforce Empowerment Initiative, and other areas as appropriate to support program participants.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recruit, screen, interview, and enroll eligible participants into the Non-Traditional Jobs Program
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement a workforce bootcamp curriculum in collaboration with faculty and staff
  • Coordinate instructional schedules and facilitate program logistics, including faculty, guest speakers, industry partners, and other campus departments
  • Deliver instruction related to career exploration, workplace readiness, employability skills, and technical career pathways
  • Introduce participants to Career and Technical Education programs through classroom, laboratory, and experiential learning activities
  • Coordinate workplace tours, employer presentations, and other career exploration opportunities
  • Provide individualized coaching and assist participants in identifying educational and employment goals
  • Assist participants with resume development, job applications, interviewing skills, and career planning
  • Coordinate supportive services and referrals to community resources to reduce barriers to success
  • Collaborate with Career Link, workforce agencies, employers, and other community organizations to support participant success
  • Track participant progress, attendance, outcomes, and required performance measures
  • Maintain program records in accordance with College, grant, and funding agency requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or appropriate education/experience in education, workforce development, counseling, human services, social work, career and technical education, or related field
  • Experience coordinating workforce development, career training, education, social work, or similar programs
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with faculty, employers, and community partners
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse educational, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain confidential student information

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with grant-funded programs
  • Experience in Career and Technical Education or workforce training
  • Experience providing career coaching, case management, or student support services
  • Familiarity with Illinois work
