Academic Advisor

Illinois State University is hiring an Academic Advisor for the Department of Agriculture. The advisor will provide academic advising and student support services, assist in academic planning, collaborate with faculty and partners, and support initiatives that enhance student recruitment, retention, and success.

• Provide comprehensive academic advising, recruitment, retention, and student support for undergraduate agriculture students.
• Assist students in developing academic plans aligned with educational and career goals.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, alumni, and industry partners to support enrollment management and experiential learning.
• Required qualifications include a master’s degree, professional advising experience, knowledge of student development, and proficiency with student information systems and advising technologies.
• Salary range: $50,000-$55,000 annually.
• Work hours primarily 8 am - 4:30 pm with some evening and weekend events.
• Experience with agricultural career pathways and enrollment management initiatives preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required to manage multiple priorities and maintain records.
• Must be legally authorized to work for Illinois State University without visa sponsorship.
• Department maintains strong connections with agricultural industry partners and offers experiential learning opportunities.
