Work in a diverse environment that offers individuals the opportunity to interact with clients and patients in both mental and addiction recovery settings. Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing psychiatric care as a consultant to a large medical/surgical inpatient service. Collaborate with hospital staff to facilitate educational offerings, behavioral management of patients, debriefings, and coordination with the discharge resource team.

Assist in transferring patients to outside psychiatric hospitals and in aftercare planning. Provide short‑term therapy for patients with mental health and/or addiction disorders.

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide treatment to patients and families related to illness adjustment and discharge planning.
• Offer education and support to patients and families to encourage adherence to medical and behavioral regimens.
• Deliver individual, family, and group therapy as appropriate to the setting.
• Assess and treat behavioral issues in the hospital, including consultation services.
• Maintain effective communication with staff and attending physicians regarding patient care, psychosocial and psychiatric needs.
• Provide brief interventions using evidence‑based techniques such as behavioral activation, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral techniques.
• Document patient records consistently with established policy and procedures.
• Serve as a resource to the case management team, referring patients to treatment or community agencies when appropriate.
• Offer daily group therapy to inpatients as scheduled.
• Collaborate with the Consult Liaison team to manage complex mental health cases.
• Consult with multidisciplinary treatment team members on assessment, treatment, and discharge planning of patients with mental health problems.
• Participate in scheduled rounding of patients identified for referral to Consult Liaison services.
• Inform RNs, leadership, and psychiatrists of pertinent clinical information obtained via therapy or psychosocial assessments.

• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Relevant therapeutic work experience.

The compensation range for this position is $27.36 per hour – $45.69 per hour. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
