Position: Therapist (LSW/LPC) - Mental Health Services - BroMenn

Overview

Work in a diverse environment that offers individuals the ability to interact with clients/patients in both mental and addiction recovery environment. Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team in providing psychiatric care as a consultant to a large medical/surgical inpatient service. Work collaboratively with hospital staff, providing liaison activities such as educational offerings, assistance with behavioral management of patients, and debriefings.

Assists discharge resource team in coordinating transfers to outside psychiatric hospitals as needed and aftercare planning for psychiatric needs. Provides short term therapy for patients with mental health and/or addiction disorders.

Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

Responsibilities
  • Provides psychosocial assessments and treatment to patients and/or families related to adjustment to illness and discharge planning.
  • Provides education and support to patients and their families to encourage compliance with medical and behavioral regimes.
  • Provides individual, family and group therapy as appropriate to setting.
  • Assists with assessment and treatment of behavioral issues in the hospital, including consultation.
  • Maintains effective communications with staff and attending physicians related to patient care, psychosocial and psychiatric needs.
  • Provides brief interventions utilizing evidence-based techniques such as behavioral activation, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral techniques.
  • Documentation consistent with established policy and procedures to create a permanent patient record.
  • Assists and serves as a resource to the case management team with referring to treatment or community agencies as appropriate.
  • Provides group therapy to inpatients daily as required by schedule.
  • Collaborates with Consult Liaison team to facilitate the management of complicated mental health cases.
  • Consultation with multidisciplinary treatment team members in all areas of the hospital on the assessment, treatment and discharge planning of patients with mental health problems.
  • Participates in scheduled rounding of patients identified for referral to CL services.
  • Informs RNs, Leadership, Psychiatric staff of pertinent clinical information obtained via individual/group therapies or psychosocial assessments.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $27.36 per hour - $45.69 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
