American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for an evening-shift contract position in a hospital CT department, requiring ARRT (CT or CNCT) certification and Epic EMR experience.
Qualifications- ARRT (R) registration required
- ARRT (CT) or Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT) certification required
- Illinois IEMA Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography required (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Certificate of Completion from a Radiologic Technology Program or college diploma in a related field
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with IV initiation and contrast media administration
- Skills in 3D imaging, MIPS, VR, Vessel Analysis, MPR, and reconstruction software
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Hospital-based CT department serving inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency Department patients
- Evening shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (40 hrs/week)
- Backup call rotation required on evenings and weekends
- Holiday coverage on a rotation basis
- Procedures include CT angiography, 3D imaging, MIPS, VR, Vessel Analysis, MPR, and post-processing/reconstruction
- Uses independent workstations, pressure injectors, PACS, and Epic systems
- Epic EMR experience required
- No floating requirements
- Perform CT scans using correct technical factors, shielding, and protocols based on patient diagnosis, history, and clinical information in accordance with ACR guidelines
- Administer IV contrast media and screen patients appropriately prior to injection; consult ordering provider as needed
- Operate support equipment including independent workstations, pressure injectors, PACS, and Epic
- Complete full CT department workflow including patient identification, history acquisition, order verification, image archiving to PACS, and case completion in Meditech
- Collaborate with radiologists to tailor protocols to individual patient exam requirements
- Transport and assist with patient transfer to and from the CT table; monitor patient condition throughout procedures
- Document patient history, charges, supply usage, contrast media use, allergic reactions, IV extravasations, and unusual occurrences
- Initiate incident reports for staff or patient situations as required
- Maintain current licensure and continuing education requirements
- Candidates with prior continuous assignment at this health system may be subject to a required break in service before returning
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
