Assistant Athletic Trainer

Job Summary

The Athletic Trainer will provide quality health care to the Men's and Women's Track and Field program and support other staff members in caring for all 400+ student-athletes at Illinois State University. Responsibilities include practice coverage, competition coverage, treatment, rehabilitation, post‑injury care, injury prevention, and facilitation of physician referrals. The position also serves as a preceptor in the athletic training education program and may perform additional administrative duties assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.

$50,000 – $55,000 Annual Salary

• Bachelor’s degree
• State of Illinois Athletic Training license or Illinois Athletic Training license eligibility
• Eligibility to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam prior to June 1, 2026

• Master’s degree
• Board of Certification (BOC) certification
• 1–2 years of collegiate experience

• Communicate effectively on a daily basis
• Occasionally lift 15–25 pounds
• Occasionally bend, twist, reach, kneel, squat, push, pull, or climb onto a table to perform duties necessary to medically treat student-athletes
