The SEAT Center provides technical assistance in the areas of accessible technology, access technology, and digital literacy. The primary role of this student worker is to support the social media plan of the SEAT Center. The student worker will also provide support, as needed, to the Center Coordinator, faculty, staff, and students in managing technology and provide technical assistance, as available, to integrate technology into instruction and learning.

• Develop, implement, and support the SEAT Center’s digital media plan.
• Support the operation and maintenance of technology assets at the SEAT Center.
• Be present and visible in the SEAT Center and provide technical assistance to users.
• Respond to technology‑related inquiries from staff, faculty, and students; assist with hardware/software incidents and requests.
• Learn the operations and functionalities of commonly used assistive software and hardware at the SEAT Center.
• Attend all relevant training sessions to stay updated with the latest technology used at the SEAT Center.
• Support Center Facilitator and SED faculty with integrating assistive and other technology into course curriculum including set up and take down of labs.
• Maintain orderliness and professionalism in the SEAT Center.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Center's Administrators or other technology support staff including research projects, as appropriate.

• Communications, marketing, or other related major.
• Experience or interest in social media marketing and video editing.
• Pleasant demeanor and willingness to assist; good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to provide technical support either remotely or in person professionally; previous customer service experience is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving skills; able to visualize a problem or situation and devise innovative solutions.
• Ability to handle varying flow of traffic; remain productive during slow times, multitask effectively during busy times, and maintain patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
• Creativity and an out‑of‑the‑box thinking approach to problem‑solving.
• Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision.
• Working knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, Mac, and iOS).
• Strong organizational skills.

• Previous experience in a leadership/mentor role.
• Experience or interest in assistive technology devices and software.
• Experience or interest in working with people with disabilities.

Students will work under the direction of Dr. Kim W. Fisher, SEAT Center Coordinator. This position requires a student worker to work 5 hours per week in the SEAT Center.

• Must be able to effectively communicate on a daily basis.
