Electro Mechanical Technician

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Pay: $28-30/hr

Contract: 6 months

This role focuses on building, installing, and maintaining industrial AI camera systems inside a manufacturing plant. You’ll fabricate mounts and brackets, install equipment on the production floor, route low-voltage wiring, and work closely with engineers during setup and testing.

• Build brackets, frames, and mounts using 80/20 aluminum
  , steel, and plastics
• Cut, drill, tap, and assemble parts using shop tools (band saw, drill press, grinders, hand tools)
• Read basic drawings or sketches and build to spec

• Install cameras, mounts, and enclosures in Body Shop, Paint Shop, and General Assembly
• Route and secure cables safely through trays, conduit, or supports
• Work around robots, conveyors, and production equipment without disrupting operations

• Adjust camera angles, focus, and positioning during system testing
• Check fasteners, torque, clearances, and overall install quality
• Document final installs with photos and basic notes

• Use ladders, scissor lifts, and platforms safely
• Follow all safety procedures (LOTO, fall protection, area access rules)
• Keep work areas organized and tools in good condition
• Work closely with engineers, controls, and operations teams
• Communicate progress, issues, and material needs clearly

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years in manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, or installation
• Comfortable using hand & power tools
• Able to lift up to ~50 lbs and work on your feet
• Comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments
• Basic computer skills (email, Docs/Sheets or MS Office)

Preferred

• Experience with 80/20 aluminum extrusion systems
• Prior work in automotive or industrial plants
• Basic understanding of Ethernet and power cabling
• Experience installing cameras, sensors, or automation equipment

• Clean, safe, and repeatable installations
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ownership of your work and early communication of issues
• Ability to move fast without cutting corners
