Assistant Director, Social Media Strategy & Content

Illinois State University is hiring an Assistant Director, Social Media Strategy & Content. The role involves leading the development of the Redbirds' brand through social media, managing sports social media accounts, increasing engagement, and driving ticket sales and fan attendance through creative strategies.

• Lead social media strategy and content for Illinois State Athletics, focusing on brand development and engagement.
• Manage assigned sports social media accounts showcasing student-athletes and coaches.
• Develop social media calendars and establish overall brand voice for accounts.
• Highly proficient in social media platforms including X, Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, Linked In, Snapchat, and Threads.
• Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop) and video editing tools such as Cap Cut.
• Requires a bachelor's degree in journalism, sports communications, marketing, public relations or related field, with 2 years of professional experience in athletic communications or social media content creation.
• Preferred qualification:
  Master's degree.
• Salary range from $43,900 to $45,000 annually.
• Work hours core 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday with frequent weekend and night availability.
• Position supports the Intercollegiate Athletics department within the Presidential division.
