Adjunct Faculty: Nursing Assistant Training Program; CNA

Position Overview

We seek part‑time instructors to teach for the IDPH‑approved Certified Nursing Assistant Program within the College's Health Sciences Division. Positions are available at our Normal, IL campus as well as our Lincoln and Pontiac, IL locations. The instructor must attend on campus as required and be authorized to work in the U.S. No visa sponsorship.

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
• Two (2) years of nursing experience with at least one (1) year in one of the following areas:
• Teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program or a nursing assistant training program.
• Providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or chronically ill adults.
• One (1) year of experience in the provision of long‑term care facility services or direct care.
• Availability to be present on campus as needed.
• Registered professional nurses holding a BSN degree or higher may be exempt from the Train the Trainer program requirement, but must provide documentation of an IDPH‑approved specialized workshop, course, seminar, continuing education unit, or other approved training for instruction in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias of at least four (4) hours or four (4) CEU credits.
• ADN or diploma nurses are required to complete an IDPH‑approved Train the Trainer program that includes instruction in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias of at least four (4) hours or four (4) CEU credits.

Adjunct faculty shall be compensated per Equated Contact Hours (ECH) of instruction. The current rate of compensation per ECH for new Adjunct Faculty is $1,011.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and must be prepared to conduct all instructional activities on campus. This position is based in Central Illinois and requires on‑campus presence.
