American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• 13-week contract assignment
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts, 5 days per week
• Schedule runs from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend shifts required
• Holiday shifts required

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Experience with OR suite preparation, patient positioning, and patient transport
• Experience providing surgical team support and PACU handoff documentation

• Prepare the OR suite including supplies, equipment, and medications ahead of procedures
• Perform patient identification using two identifiers and safety timeouts before incision and prior to exiting the OR suite
• Position and prep patients for surgical procedures using appropriate positioning aids and guidelines
• Support the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests for supplies, blood, specimens, cultures, and medications
• Transport patients to PACU or designated units and provide detailed handoff to the receiving RN
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation throughout patient care
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
