Residential Leasing Agent

The Leasing Agent role is vital to the health and success of the Residential Division of Young America Realty. The success of this position is measured by the level of service provided to customers, the lead-to-lease conversion, and the number of leases signed each month.
Responsibilities- Discover, engage, and advance each prospect through the leasing process.
- Develop extensive knowledge of all properties in the portfolio.
- Demonstrates strong closing skills by effectively converting tours and inquiries into signed leases
- Display a high level of integrity and professionalism in dealing with residents, prospects, employees, and outside contacts.
- Provide information regarding specific communities/units as well as services offered with the goal of generating leases.
- Actively prospect for new customers.
- Communicate with prospects and residents in a timely and consistent manner based on established Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) processes.
- Accurately communicate the benefits and features of the property’s portfolios to prospective renters.
- Stay up to date with all promotions/leasing incentives.
- Conduct apartment showings to lease available units within our portfolio.
- Process applications for prospective residents.
- Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective residents.
- Create and maintain proper leasing paperwork.
- Keep personal and team calendars updated to ensure clear communication for scheduling tours and office coverage.
- Conduct move-in appointments and inspections with new residents.
- Look for ways to improve processes and better leverage the App Folio property management system to be more efficient and effective.
- Comply with all Fair Housing regulations and requirements.
- Lead prospecting and closing skills.
- Demonstrated success in a sales-driven environment with a focus on achieving conversion goals.
- Obtain product knowledge.
- Create resident relationships.
- Ability to resolve complaints.
- 3-5 years of sales/leasing experience.
- Possess a high level of written and verbal skills in the English language.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Have or obtain Illinois Leasing License within 120 days of being employed.
- Proficiency with office software such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to sit or stand for periods of time, climb stairs, walk and lift 15 lbs.
- State of Illinois Driver’s License, Vehicle Insurance, and a well-maintained vehicle.
- Typical work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a rotating Saturday shift. Lunch breaks are coordinated with the Residential Division staff so that the office is not left unattended at any time during regular business hours.
- During high volume months, you may be required to work longer or varying hours. You may also, at times, be required to work irregular hours to satisfy the needs of customers and lead generation.
