Position: Server (Normal, IL)

Job Title: Servers (Front‑of‑House Team Members)

Location: 603 S Main Street - Normal, IL 61761

Salary: $9.00 - $18.00 Hourly

What You’ll Do
  • Greet guests and create a welcoming, upbeat experience.
  • Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Recommend menu items, beverages, and promotions.
  • Deliver food and drinks while ensuring quality and satisfaction.
  • Check in with guests and provide attentive service throughout their visit.
  • Process payments and handle transactions accurately.
  • Resolve guest issues using conflict management and problem‑solving skills.
  • Apply RAS (responsible alcohol service) procedures as required by law and BWW policy.
  • Collaborate with team members to keep the dining room running smoothly.
  • Demonstrate strong time‑management, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Follow directions and execute team and company objectives.
Qualifications
  • Superior customer service and hospitality skills.
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation, food safety, and security procedures.
  • Knowledge of the BWW food and beverage menu with the ability to suggest and upsell.
  • Awareness of current marketing initiatives and upcoming events.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interaction skills.
  • Strong time‑management and organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Basic math skills for handling money accurately.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems.
  • Conflict resolution and analytical skills, coupled with high emotional intelligence.
  • Knowledge of RAS procedures as defined by federal and state laws and BWW policies.
  • Solid understanding of typical concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant setting.

  • Comply with all specifications, quality standards, and department rules and procedures.
  • Follow service time guidelines while engaging guests and customizing their experience.
  • Maintain a high pace and intensity for extended periods.
  • Be reliable and dependable by adhering to a schedule, covering shifts as necessary, and being on time.

  • Show respect, provide positive encouragement, and treat team members fairly.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all team members and managers.

  • Deliver outstanding guest experiences focused on friendly service, food, fun, and value.
  • Explain menu items and terms and provide suggestions when guests ask.
Education / Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Certification to serve alcohol as dictated by state law and BWW policy.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience as a server or in a customer service role, ideally in a high‑volume full‑service restaurant.
