Water Distribution
Seasonal Utility Worker positions provide labor and assistance to the Water Distribution Division, including servicing meters, hydrants, and performing general maintenance duties.
* Replacing water meters and meter reading devices.
* Perform landscaping and maintenance duties.
* Cleaning and painting fire hydrants.
* May be responsible for any utility worker duties.
* Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Illinois driver's license.
* Ability to learn the operation and maintenance of all equipment and procedures within the division.
* Some knowledge of heavy duty trucks, tractors and maintenance equipment.
* Some knowledge of general construction.
* Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other Town employees.
* Physical ability to perform a wide variety of manual labor in a wide variety of inclement weather, especially as it relates to the back, legs and arms.
* Ability to maintain various records of the division.
Graduation from standard high school or equivalent, or a vocational school and some experience in manual labor and driving a commercial motor vehicle.
