Recovery Support Coach
We seek a part-time Recovery Support Coach to provide support to students enrolled in the College's Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) Program. The Recovery Support Coach utilizes lived experience, professional training, and Certified Recovery Support Services (CRSS) competencies to support students in the RSS program achieve and sustain self-directed recovery. General responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide individual and/or small group and peer support to students in the RSS program
- Assist students in the RSS program in identifying goals, building a recovery plan, and tracking progress
- Model hope, resilience, and a recovery-oriented mindset in all interactions with RSS students
- Support students in navigating systems, accessing resources, and advocating for their needs
- Connect students to both internal and external resources related to housing, employment, educational support, wellness, and other community services as needed
- Maintain accurate, strength-based documentation that reflects the RSS students' voice and goals
- Participate in RSS team meetings, advisory board meetings, and new student orientation, upholding the unique peer role
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain CRSS competencies
Requirements include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Credentialed as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Desired qualifications include:
- Associate degree
- Work experience in a success or academic coaching program
- Experience working with first-generation and other traditionally underrepresented student populations
