Campus Assistant - PT
Under the general direction and supervision of the Senior Director, Campus Operations, the Campus Assistant supports the execution of the campus photo identification system and assists with the coordination of on‑campus events. This position serves as the primary point of contact for visitors, providing accurate information and assistance while representing the College in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner, both in person and on the telephone.
Additional duties may be assigned to support campus operations. This is a regular part‑time position.
- Operate Campus Photo m – Administer the campus photo identification system in a courteous and efficient manner. Verify student registration status, capture photographs, and produce student and employee identification cards.
- Information Desk Operations – Provide daily coverage of the campus information desk as assigned. Serve as a primary point of contact for visitors, students, faculty, and staff by greeting individuals, answering a multi‑line phone system, responding to inquiries, and directing individuals to appropriate offices or classrooms in a professional manner.
- Campus Event Coordination Support – Assist with the coordination and execution of on‑campus events for internal and external groups. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting event requests, maintaining the campus events calendar, and coordinating space and resource allocation.
- Promote a Culture of Belonging – Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute. Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment. Support the College’s policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities for all.
Functions
- Provide support for campus activities and events, including student orientations, employee in‑service programs and external events.
- May be required to perform associated duties, functions, or assignments in other divisions/programs/areas as required.
- Perform other College functions and duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work varied days, hours, shifts, locations, and campuses as required.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in operating a computer, Microsoft Office products, and performing general clerical duties, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
- Willingness and ability to learn and utilize additional computer software systems as needed.
- Ability to work effectively and communicate respectfully with a diverse population of students, staff, and the public.
- Strong customer service skills, professional business communication, and proper workplace etiquette.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, including in‑person and telephone interactions.
- Knowledge of standard practices and procedures within an educational institution.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, following established College practices, procedures, and policies.
- Excellent public contact skills, courteous demeanor, and strong customer service orientation.
- Dependable, with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds for short distances, and move tables, chairs, and media equipment as needed.
- Demonstrate ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Proficiency with office applications and aptitude for learning new software and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time‑management and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Salary: $15.94 per hour.
Benefits:
Part‑time regular employees are eligible to participate in the TIAA retirement plan through a Roth, SRA, or 457(B) account, with no match provided by the College. Additionally, part‑time regular employees may enroll in supplemental benefits and the group vision plan through employee‑paid premiums.
Schedule:
Normal hours of work for this part‑time temporary position are generally scheduled by the College, Monday through Friday, based on a 29‑hour workweek and a 260‑day work calendar. Scheduled special activities, emergencies, or temporary schedule changes may require hours outside of the regular workday or workweek.
