Salary and Compensation

Starting Salary: $40,822.75 annually (Hiring Rate). Immediate growth: 2.5% pay increase after successful completion of probation period. Higher starting pay may be considered based on education and experience, subject to final management approval. Annual cost‑of‑living adjustments applied on July 1, subject to State Legislature approval.

Responsibilities

This classification level is responsible for working under general supervision and providing a variety of specialized customer service, clerical and administrative support to single court operations and is cross‑trained in service areas such as criminal/traffic, civil/small claims, or probate, guardian‑conservator and adoption.

  • Scheduling court hearings
  • Data entry and processing of new case filings
  • Updating and maintaining records
  • Performing cashiering duties such as processing payments and balancing daily deposits
  • Preparing and submitting routine documents and reports
  • Assisting the public and staff by answering general questions regarding court operations
Job Duties
  • Performs specialized clerical support for court operations, including scheduling hearings with attorneys and other agencies; entering new case filings; preparing and recording paperwork for assigned area of responsibility; preparing and distributing docket for court sessions; ensuring completeness and accuracy of information and maintaining related records.
  • Responds to telephone, e‑mail, written, and in‑person inquiries from employees, other departments, and the public; transmits messages; provides answers and information requiring knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs routing administrative support duties, which include scheduling and coordinating meetings; processing payments (e.g., fines, fees) and daily deposits.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and 3 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Customer service principles
  • Cashiering
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws; judicial, jail, and court system
  • Filing and record‑keeping principles
  • Modern office procedures, methods, and equipment
  • Basic principles and practices in assigned area of responsibility
  • Computers and related software applications

  • Primarily sedentary work, some slight physical effort may be required, not to exceed 20lbs.
