Pay Range:Targeted salary of $14.00 per hour, based on experience.

Benefits Eligible: No

Work Schedule:Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel:May be required

Position Introduction:

Do you like to interact with the public and help them resolve their questions? If so, join us at the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD) as our temporary receptionist. CECPD is a department within the College of Continuing Education at the University of Oklahoma. We provide many programs for the Child Care field throughout the State of Oklahoma.
We are located at 1801 N Moore Ave, Moore, OK 73160
The Receptionist Job duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Greet and assist visitors at the front desk
  • Answer multi phone lines, assist callers, and route calls
  • Open and process incoming postal and campus mail and date stamp materials according to established procedures
  • Assist with mass mailings and other projects as needed
  • Enter data in various Access Databases, Excel Spreadsheets and the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry
  • Maintains appointment calendars and keeps track of scheduled events.
  • Assists with general office support duties and special projects.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education and Experiece:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 12 months office, clerical or receptionist experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook)
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to build rapport with guests, students, faculty and staff
  • General office skills such as multi-line phone, copying, filing, faxing, and distributing mail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to handle difficult situations in a calm and professional manner

Department Preferences:

  • Associate's degree OR an equivalent combination of education/job-related experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good organizational skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform highly detailed work
  • Ability to interact effectively with the university community, general public, and government agencies
  • Ability to work effectively with frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods
