Job Overview:

The University of Oklahoma Division of Student Affairs is seeking undergraduate students located in the Norman area to serve as media and news specialists for OU Esports and Co‑Curricular Innovation. Specialists will create quality videos and articles, conducting research, writing, interviewing, filming, and editing content that reflects the inclusive nature of OU Esports.

Responsibilities:

• Attend weekly meetings with the Media and News Coordinator.
• Maintain regular communication via Discord and email.
• Research, write, film, and edit videos for OU Esports social media.
• Research, write, interview, and edit articles for the OU Esports website.
• Produce live coverage of matches and community events.
• Collaborate with internal and external constituencies to promote gaming culture.

Qualifications:

• Must be currently enrolled in the Spring term at the University of Oklahoma and located in the Norman or OKC Metropolitan area.
• Good time management, organization, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in videography, script writing, editing, and photography (for media specialists).
• Proficiency in news writing, interviewing, researching, and article editing (for news specialists).
• Discord and email communication knowledge.
• Knowledge of Esports, gaming technology, and trends.
• Self‑motivation, attention to detail, and high integrity.

Certifications:

• Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements:

• Move and engage in repetitive motions of hands, wrists, or fingers; communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Handle videography equipment including cameras, green screens, and tripods.

Department Preferences:

• Skills in Adobe, Google Docs, and Canva.
• Previous experience in writing or video making.
• Previous experience with video game related organizations and jobs.
• Previous experience working collaboratively with others.
