Position: Student Assistant, Athletics Graphic Design (Summer)

Pay Range:Targeted salary $8.00-$9.50 per hour based on experience

Benefits Eligible: No

Work Schedule:Mainly Tuesday/Thursdays. Dependent upon class schedule: 10-20 hours/week

Travel:May be required

Position Introduction:

Athletics Graphic Design Student Assistant Will:

  • Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
  • Formulate design concepts, presentations, sign templates, layouts and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
  • Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to full-time staff
  • Prioritize and filter work coming from multiple departments
  • Design digital advertisements, print, and promotional materials
  • Work with images from various photographers, comping images to use on design layouts
  • Meet all deadlines
  • Contribute to the invention and implementation of marketing/communications initiatives

Required

Education and Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a combination of two terms as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

Skills:

  • Must know design programs on a Macintosh computer, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign,
  • Adobe Acrobat and Font Management
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment
  • Practice a professional attitude when working with outside vendors

    Develop good rapport with other members of the Athletics Department
  • Maintain an approachable persona as well as organized and respectful communication with all other departments
  • Work closely with supervisors to ensure a cohesive message and look across all design projects and materials
  • Able to gain and maintain working knowledge of NCAA, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations

Required Certifications and Licenses:

None

Department Preferences:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Currently enrolled in Visual Communication, Advertising or similar major
