Position: Drafter / CAD Operator

Job Title and Location

Everforth ECS is seeking a Drafter / CAD Operator to work onsite at the USPS Maintenance and Technical Support Service Center (MTSC) in Norman, OK. This role prepares complete sets of complex drawings or computer models that include multiple views, detail drawings, assembly drawings, and bill of materials. Utilizes various engineering and OEM sources to research, develop, publish, and maintain Technical Documentation and digital libraries containing parts information, Technical Data Packages (TDP's), machinery configuration information, and component-level configuration information for industrial/commercial mail processing equipment.

& Site Requirements

Must be able to obtain a USPS Public Trust background clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status (Green Card) and ability to pass in-depth background check. This position requires working onsite at the USPS customer site in Norman, OK. Travel within the United States approximately 10% of the time.

Job Responsibilities
  • Utilize engineering and OEM source documentation to research, develop, publish, and maintain Technical Documentation.
  • Conduct desktop/online or on-location verification and on-equipment validation tasks with minimal support from subject matter experts.
  • Prepare complete sets of complex drawings or computer models that include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings, including complex design features requiring drafting skill.
  • Work from sketches, computer models, and verbal information supplied by an engineer or SME to determine appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information.
  • Collaborate with a small team to research, develop, publish, and maintain Technical Documentation while adhering to prescribed schedules and budgets.
  • Travel within the United States approximately 10% of the time to support documentation-related tasks and technical information collection.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision (perform all Drafter II duties).
  • Minimum associate's degree required; higher-level degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and experience.
  • Familiarity with system engineering or engineering lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of technical and engineering documentation development with baseline drafting proficiency.
  • General working knowledge of industrial equipment systems.
  • Ability to handle moderately difficult assignments requiring judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.
  • Research and document engineering drawing change requests and create change documentation records.
  • Strong attention to detail, proofread for accuracy.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • 1-2 years of mechanical drafting experience.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D drafting processes.
  • Proficiency using Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Experience with Service Now or other workflow management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology practices.
